I am a British guy who has spent the last thirty five years travelling the world, spending a third of my adult life abroad. I have now been to 103 countries and climbed and trekked in most of the world’s major mountain regions. Over the years I have written about my experiences all of which you can read on this site.
New articles and the attached blog continues the adventure.

April 2013 In England
I’ve just spent the weekend away in the lovely countryside of the Cotswolds staying in the small town of Chipping Camden. This is quintessential England, small, quiet streets, old buildings made from the soft honey coloured limestone of the local area. Beautiful and understated, gardens, union flags, fine churches and rolling countryside. Wandering across the landscape, I discover small churches where the bell ringers are county champions, National Trust tea rooms, and pubs with good food. Because of our late and harsh winter, nature has been set back a month, there’s no bustle in the hedgerows yet but the Chiff Chaffs have arrived and I saw the first Swallow but of course that doesn’t make a summer.
Trekking to Everest

Books and the Traveller

I didn’t mind this particularly except when I realized that all my books in my pack in the hold, and there was no way I was going to have access to it today, with all the demonstrators about. India Revisited - September 2012
This was my first visit to India since 2007 so I was interested to see what changes had been made in that time. The news in the West is of India the rising power that will soon be one of the top dogs. Certainly on my last visit I could see signs of change and thought that India was becoming a more modern society. Read More.....
